The ReTiS lab is coordinating the consortium composed also by the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, and the Università degli Studi di Catania. The ReTiS lab held the kick-off meeting of the SPHERE project that aims at providing an integrated operating system framework to […]
Designing Mixed-Criticality Applications on Modern Heterogeneous MPSoC Platforms 28th June 2019 – TeCIP Institute – Blue Room – 10.00 a.m. Abstract:Multiprocessor Systems-on-Chip (MPSoC) integrating hard processing cores with programmable logic (PL) are becoming increasingly more available. While these platforms have been originally designed for high-performance computing applications, their rich feature set can be exploited to […]
A journey for high school students including robotics, virtual and augmented reality, biomedical technologies, real-time operating systems for multimedia, and optical fiber telecommunications. The ReTiS lab was present with Prof. Tommaso Cucinotta and Dott. Giorgiomaria Cicero to show the research achievements applied to multimedia and embedded control systems.
The IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS) is the premier conference in the field of real-time systems, presenting innovations with respect to both theory and practice. RTSS’18 has been held in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and the ReTiS lab was present with three accepted papers: “Memory Feasibility Analysis of Parallel Tasks Running on Scratchpad-Based Architectures,” Daniel Casini, Alessandro […]
Development of kernel and hypervisor mechanisms for railway systems at the RETIS Lab – Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Research objectives The research is part of a larger project funded by RFI, the company that manages the Italian railway infrastructure (http://www.rfi.it/). The large RFI project plans to replace all computing platforms, currently used on trains and in railway stations, with […]
Vodafone and Sant’Anna School TeCIP Istitute (Communication, Information and Perception Technologies) work on the design and development of modern data centers driven by Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming data centers and enabling the transition from manually managed networks to fully autonomic and self-organized networks. The paradigm shift towards Network Function Virtualization (NFV) will […]

Biondi received the award for his doctoral study in Emerging Digital Technologies under the supervision […]
On April 3rd and 4th, the Real-Time Systems (ReTiS) laboratory of the Institute of Communication, Information and Perception Technologies (TeCIP) of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna hosted the first summit on scheduling and power management in the Linux kernel (OSPM).
The event has been the opportunity for kernel developers, industries, and academia to discuss the challenges and possible solutions to fruitfully exploit the capabilities of current and upcoming computing platforms. The attendance included guests from the major companies in the field, like ARM, Linaro, Intel, Google, and Red Hat.
It’s possible to view all talks on the ReTiS channel on Youtube.
