For the second consecutive year, three distinguished faculty members from the RETIS laboratory at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna—Giorgio Buttazzo, Alessandro Biondi, and Daniel Casini—have once again been recognized in the prestigious “World Top 2% Scientists” ranking. Stanford University compiles this annual list in collaboration with Elsevier-Scopus.
The confirmation of this recognition highlights their continued excellence and outstanding contributions in the fields of real-time embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Their groundbreaking research has consistently distinguished them as leaders in their disciplines. Buttazzo, Biondi, and Casini are also integral to the departments of excellence in robotics and artificial intelligence, which are funded by the Italian Ministry of Research.
The highly credible Stanford ranking evaluates over 100,000 scientists across 176 disciplines, primarily by analyzing citations gathered over the past 15 years. Their renewed inclusion on this list further solidifies the global impact and consistently high quality of the research conducted at the RETIS Lab and the TeCIP Institute.
