The Teatro dei Coraggiosi in Pomarance hosted the XII Festa della Robotica on April 29, 2026. This event, dedicated to education and scientific dissemination, is aimed at students and offers a concrete opportunity to engage with advanced technologies. It was organized and directed by Prof. Antonio Quarta, a teacher who has passionately guided the “Progetto Robotica” at the ITIS “A. Santucci” for over ten years.

The ReTiS Lab at the TeCIP Institute (Technologies of Communication, Informatics, Photonics) of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna has consistently made a significant contribution to the scientific organization of the event, identifying topics of interest and speakers with strong popularizing skills. For this twelfth edition, the opening of the proceedings was entrusted to the Mayor of Pomarance, Graziano Pacini, and the School Principal, Federica Casprini, followed by a series of speeches ranging from artificial intelligence to autonomous driving and human-computer interaction.
Giorgio Buttazzo and Alessandro Biondi, professors at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, opened the scientific sessions. Prof. Buttazzo presented the latest advancements in the field with his talk “Artificial Intelligence: New Developments”, while Prof. Biondi offered a reflection on modern societal habits in “Addiction to Technological Well-being: Everything Immediately, Everything Owed”.
Leonardo Tarabella, a retired CNR researcher, then focused on gestural music in his talk “Gestural Control for Electronic Music Generation”. Following an introductory overview, his session transitioned into a live performance that was warmly appreciated by the students.
Lastly, Federico Nesti, a researcher, and Mauro Marinoni, a technical official at the ReTiS laboratory, concluded the technical interventions by exploring the frontiers of autonomous mobility and applied robotics in their joint presentation, “The Road of the Future: Robotics and Autonomous Driving”.
